Siuslaw has filled out its dance card for its first-ever swing through Sky-Em League varsity boys soccer, and last season's belle of the ball, Marist Catholic, is its first partner.

The Vikings entertain the Spartans at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Siuslaw soccer field.

Marist Catholic went 8-0 in league last fall, 14-1-1 overall, outscoring its opponents 74-7. The Spartans were ranked No. 1 entering last season's playoffs, but lost in the 4A state semifinals.

Siuslaw, 6-0-2 last fall, is fielding its first-ever varsity team after two seasons of junior varsity play.

The Vikings' coed team again will play an all-boys schedule this fall. The goal is to eventually field both boys and girls varsity teams.

Siuslaw is scheduled to open its season Thursday, Aug. 27, hosting Waldport.

The Vikings are coached by Londi Tomaro, who is assisted by Nyra Campbell and Kaleena Jensen.
