SABC prepares to celebrate senior athletes

The Siuslaw Athletic Booster Club has not given up on the current school year, with at least one clear near goal.

"We are currently exploring ideas to celebrate our senior athletes," SABC president Steven Moser said. "Nothing concrete on that yet."

The SABC has not held a meeting since February, and the booster club's biggest fundraiser of the year, the auction-dinner, is Aug. 8, less than four months away.

"All SABC meetings have been postponed for the time being," Moser said. "We hope to still hold our auction in August, but we will see how things go until then."

The SABC is in idle at present, eager to resume its mission of serving both Siuslaw Middle School and Siuslaw High School athletes.

"We don't have any projects since we don't have any donation requests," Moser said.

"All pending projects have been completed to this point."

SABC officers include Tracy Aaron, vice president and auction chair; Anna Moser, secretary; Jonathan Hornung, treasurer, and Katherine Rannow, membership chair.

Members at large are Jeromy Graybill, Siuslaw Middle School athletic director; Chris Johnson, Siuslaw High School athletic director, and Chris Rowbotham.

The club normally meets the last Monday of each month during the school year.

To encourage more community participation, the club has met this school year at Chen's Family Dish, Rosa's Mexican Restaurant and 1285 Restobar.
