Mak still on the attack with the Lady Wolves

Former Siuslaw Vikings volleyball standout Makenzie York will get to play college ball this school year after all.

The 6-foot sophomore middle blocker and opposite is a member of the Western Oregon team that will play seven matches this spring, all in Washington State. Last fall's season was canceled because of the pandemic.

An abbreviated schedule has been approved by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference for volleyball, cross country and men's and women's soccer.

York played in 23 of 27 matches as a freshman with the Lady Wolves, and finished fourth on the team in blocked shots with 34.

At Siuslaw, York was first-team all-league all four years and was a two-time team captain.
