Dotson posts personal record in long jump

Joseph Dotson (Siuslaw 2015) had a personal-record mark of 22 feet, 5.25 inches Friday for a third-place finish in the long jump at the Cascade Conference Championships in La Grande. The Southern Oregon University senior is expected to compete  the NAIA decathlon championships May 26-28 in Alabama.

Hannah Rannow (Siuslaw 2020) ran four 1,500-meter races this spring as a freshman on the Oregon State track and field team, posting a personal-best 5:04.19. Rannow also is a member of the school's women's cross country team.

Jake Thompson (Siuslaw 2013) has resumed pitching following a year lost to Tommy John surgery. Thompson has two appearances for a total of two innings, with 2 strikeouts, 2 walks, an ERA of 9.00 and no decisions.

Makenzie York (Siuslaw 2019) will open her junior year with the Western Oregon University women's volleyball team Sept. 2 at the Cal Poly Pomona Tournament in Pomona, Calif. York started six of seven matches in the Lady Wolves' recently concluded short spring season, playing in 21 of 22 sets. She tied for first on the team with 12 blocked shots and was third in kills with 37 and points with 45.5.
