Siuslaw junior Braydon Thornton scored a game-high 18 points Friday to lead the Vikings to a 64-48 nonleague boys basketball victory at North Bend.

Junior Brody Terry added 17 and senior Liam McClellan 11 as the Vikings rolled to a 3-0 record in advance of their Sky-Em League opener Tuesday at Marist.

North Bend fell to 0-2, both losses to the Vikings. Siuslaw won 64-34 Wednesday in Florence.

Thornton tallied 16 points in the first half as the Vikings built a 37-24 lead.

Siuslaw opened a 20-point lead, 44-24, on baskets by junior Avery Hart and Terry plus a 3-pointer by McClellan to start the second half.

The Bulldogs never made a serious run after that, despite scoring the final 11 points of the game, including six free throws on one possession when the Vikings were called for two technical fouls and a common foul.

The Vikings had nine 3-point goals in the game, three each by Thornton, Terry and McClellan.

Senior post Spencer Barker, who was not in uniform Wednesday, led North Bend with 10 points, while senior guard Brady Messner added 9.

Elsewhere in games involving Sky-Em League teams, Junction City won at Creswell, 83-42.
