Coast Radio to hit the road with the Vikings

26 hours. A day-plus.

That's about how much time to travel to — and return from — Siuslaw Vikings football games this fall, according to Google Maps.

Fear not if you cannot make it. Bob and Randy will make the trip for you.

"It will be Bob (Sneddon) and Randy (Paredes)," Coast Radio general manager Jon Thompson said.

"We will broadcast the entire schedule, if they don't cancel any games."

The Vikings, who have five scheduled road trips, kick off fall practice Monday.

Siuslaw opens the season with one of its three scheduled home games, 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, against South Umpqua at Hans Petersen Memorial Field.

The Vikings spend the rest of September on a bus, with visits to Brookings, Sisters and Gladstone.

Google Maps has the trip to Brookings at 156 miles, to Sisters 172 miles and to Gladstone 171.

That's one way. That's 499 miles. That's basically 1,000 miles of travel in the first month alone.

Timewise, Google has the Vikings traveling 3 hours, 6 minutes to Brookings for their road opener Sept. 10.

That would be the start of 26 hours of travel time for the five road games, home and return.

The five road trips, miles one way, time one way and destination:

  • Brookings-Harbor, 156 miles, 3 hours, 6 minutes, 625 Pioneer Rd, Brookings, OR 97415
  • Sisters, 172 miles, 3 hours, 21 minutes, 1700 McKinney Butte Rd, Sisters, OR 97759
  • Gladstone, 171 miles, 2 hours, 53 minutes, 18800 Portland Ave, Gladstone, OR 97027
  • Pleasant Hill, 79 miles, 1 hour, 30 minutes, 36386 OR-58, Pleasant Hill, OR 97455
