The Siuslaw Vikings football schedule has been adjusted two weeks ahead of the opening game, athletic director Chris Johnson announced Friday.

"We will play the Pleasant Hill game at Hans Petersen Feld and Junction City at Junction City," he said.

"The junior varsity games will switch, too. All should be correct (on the Oregon School Activities Association website)."

The Pleasant Hill game is Oct. 15 and the Junction City game Oct. 29.

The schedule switch likely makes the Pleasant Hill game voth homecoming and senior night this season.

The Vikings still must play five of eight scheduled games on the road, with no opponent for Oct. 1.

Siuslaw was to play Harrisburg on Oct. 1, but the struggling Harrisburg program decided to drop down and play an all-2A schools schedule.

This could be the final year of 3A football for Siuslaw, which plays at 4A or in combined classification special districts in other sports and activities.

The OSAA's Classification and Districting Committee had its first meeting this week via Zoom. It has five more meetings between now and Nov. 22. The normal 13-month process is being expedited to five.
