Siuslaw graduates Gracie Freudenthal and Brea Blankenship have been named members of the 2021 Sky-Em League girls basketball all-star team.

Freudenthal was second team, Blankenship honorable mention, Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson announced Friday, Sept. 3.

"Better late than never," Johnson said in an email release.

The Sky-Em League season ended June 18.

No boys' all-star team has been released to date, though there were a number of deserving Vikings.

Cottage Grove had both the player of the year, Gracie Arnold, and the coach of the year, Erin Royse.

The all-defensive team had only four players because Siuslaw and Elmira neglected to nominate a player for the team.

Freudenthal and Blankenship also were members of Siuslaw's state champion girls cross country team and are now teammates on the Southern Oregon University women's cross country team.
