COACH KARI BLAKE'S RECAP

"It was senior night at Glenn Butler Court and what a night it was! Our seniors shined throughout the night.  We beat Elmira in 3 sets, scores of 25-7, 25-15 and 25-10.

"Our girls played a clean, fast game and I was really impressed with their low error rate tonight.  Senior setter, Zoe Alberty again had an outstanding night for us in the setter's position.  Zoe had 31 sets to target to set our hitters up.  She was giving our front row some very quality sets.  Zoe runs the court fast which helps keep the tempo of the team up.  She was spreading out the sets well and just played a really smart game.  Zoe's serves were perfect on the night with 6 aces and no missed serves.  Zoe served us up 13-0 in the first set.

"Senior libero, Hayden Muller again played our back row beautifully.  Hayden had 19 digs, 19 perfect passes and she just had this wonderful energy radiating.  Hayden was having a lot of fun on the court and as always, kept the team smiling.  Hayden is such a hustler; and she's the base to us getting those big kills.  If it wasn't for Hayden's exceptional passing, it would make our setters job much, much harder.  She just did such an amazing job tonight.

"Senior right side, Alizabeth Norton had a big night.  She put 4 kills and 3 blocks on the books tonight for us.  Alizabeth played both right side and middle hitter.  Middle hitter was Alizabeth's old position so it was fun to see her excel at it tonight while having a lot of fun playing an old position that she's obviously still very familiar with.  Alizabeth was all over tonight.  She had quite a few digs and had really solid, quality net play.  Alizabeth came alive tonight and what better night than senior night?!

"To top off the win, Zoe set Alizabeth up with a gorgeous set and Alizabeth put down the kill to finish her regular season play in our home gym.  The seniors showed tonight why they are considered leaders on our team.  They played an absolutely quality, fast-paced, fun game tonight.

"Other stats for the night:

"Desiree Tupua with an amazing night with really well-rounded play.  Desi had 10 kills, 7 blocks and 8 serving aces.  Desi was focused and played a nearly flawless game.  Mylee Blake and Hailee Outlaw each had 7 kills on the night and Brynlee Manues served 3 aces for the lady Vikings.

"It was a really special night honoring our seniors and I couldn't be more proud of the hard work they've put in to get us to this point.  Next week will be a really big week and I think these girls are ready to face the challenge."
