The Siuslaw Vikings cheerleading team placed third Saturday in the Oregon Cheerleading Coaches Association's Game Day Championships at Sherwood High School.

The Vikings finished behind first-place Gladstone and second-place Henley in the 4A schools competition.

Roster members for Siuslaw include seniors Alexia Clark, Brooke Olson, Dante Galli and Destiny Teel, juniors Ava Coggins, Gillian Norton, Haylee Cole and Michaela Butchart, sophomores Ally Contreras, Parker Sydow and Rosa Velasco-Mendez and freshmen Ashlyn Hart, Claire Lindell and Darcy Edman.

The team is coached by Teri Straley, who is assisted by Desteny Johnson and Lori Straley.

The all-classifications state finals are Feb. 12 at a site to be announced.

The OCCA Cheer Championships are at the Salem Pavilion on Feb. 19.
