The first four fully invested players in Siuslaw soccer history will be among the seven honored Monday on senior night at the high school field on 27th and Oak.

The Vikings host Elmira, with a 6:30 p.m. start time.

"It will be hard to see this group of kids go," Siuslaw coach Londi Tomaro said. "We've had them as long as we've had a team.

"We've seen each of them grow from kids into young adults, and we will really miss them."

Jerrel Brumley, Kassandra Dietrich, Jason Garcia and Imanol Pelayo were on the Siuslaw's first team in fall 2018, when the Vikings played at the junior varsity level.

Fellow seniors Dante Galli, Maisie Jones and Kayden Lane have been along for most of the ride.

"Jerrel and Kassandra have been bulwarks of our defensive line the past four years," Tomaro said.

"Imanol makes wonderful precision passes and reads the field extremely well as both a midfielder and forward.

"Jason is an incredibly hard worker with great ball control and dribbling skills and a fantastic shot. He has helped hold our team together as a midfielder the past four years."

Garcia also was first-team all-Sky-Em League last spring as a junior.

Siuslaw's other three seniors also have made major contributions as the Vikings went from coed JV the first two seasons, to varsity last spring and finally to varsity and JV this fall.

"Kayden has been our main goalkeeper for the past three years, and has also had an impact as a midfielder and forward," Tomaro said.

"Dante joined the team last year and has contributed size and speed on the front line. Maisie, also a forward, has a great outside cross and shot."

Tomaro, who has been with the program from the start, appreciates what those seven players have meant to the development of soccer in Florence.

"This group of kids really epitomizes a team attitude and approach," she said. "They work hard for each other, and for the team.

"They give more than they think they can because they want to support their teammates."
