The Siuslaw Vikings girls basketball continued to take some early-season lumps Friday, falling 52-2 at Newport in a nonleague game.

The Lady Vikings, 0-2, play Monday at North Bend and Wednesday at Pleasant Hill.

It was the opening game of the season for Newport, which next plays Tuesday at Harrisburg.

The Cubs led 21-0 after the first quarter, 28-2 at halftime and 46-2 after three quarters.

Siuslaw lost its season opener at home against Bandon, 47-7.
