Siuslaw senior Hayden Muller captured the 135-pound division and freshman Macali Lade was second at 110 Saturday to advance to the Oregon School Activities Association's girls' state wrestling championships.

The Lady Vikings placed fifth among 39 schools in the Special District 2 championships at Cottage Grove.

Muller posted pins in the quarterfinals and semifinals and a 13-4 major decision over Morgan Edwards of Grants Pass in the championship match.

Lade won by forfeit and pin before losing by fall in the championship match to top seed Destiny Weaver of Glendale in 3 minutes, 47 seconds.

Sophomore Makayala Freeman had 9 points and senior Brooke Olson 7 points at 130 pounds for Siuslaw, which had 57 total with only four wrestlers.

Thurston had 16 wrestlers total 179 points for the regional title. North Medford with seven wrestlers had 145, Sweet Home with 14 wrestlers had 140 and Hidden Valley with five had 76.

Muller and Lade advance to the all-classes girls state tournament Thursday, Feb. 24, at Culver High School.
