The Siuslaw Vikings boys basketball team opened its five-games-in-five-days grind Monday with a 47-42 victory over the Falcons at Elmira.

Siuslaw improved to 7-11 overall and 1-5 in the Sky-Em League. Elmira is 3-14 and 1-7, its one league win 53-45 at Siuslaw two weeks ago.

The Vikings host the Junction City Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Butler Court.

Siuslaw hosts Marist on Wednesday and Marshfield on Thursday, both with scheduled 5:45 p.m. tipoffs.

The Vikings cap their regular season Friday at Cottage Grove.

Monday's win snapped a seven-game losing skid for the Vikings, who have been battling injuries and issues with covid most of the season.

Siuslaw has played just four games in the past 26 days, and now faces four in a row to finish the season.
