The Siuslaw Vikings boys placed second and the girls fifth Thursday in the six-school Siuslaw Icebreaker track and field meet at Hans Petersen Memorial Field.

Cottage Grove had 175 points to 128 by Siuslaw in the boys, while Cottage Grove won the girls team title with 114 to 112 by Myrtle Point. Siuslaw had 46.

Siuslaw boys individual winners included:

• 100 — junior Hunter Petterson, 11.88a.
• 400 — senior James Smith, 57.01.a
• 800 — junior Jacob Blankenship, 2:15.21a, a personal record
• 3,000 — junior Kyle Hughes, 10:14.73a
• Discus — junior Jonathon Rose, 114 feet, 1 inch

Rose also was second in the shot put with a PR 37-10.

Bandon senior Hunter Angove won the featured pole vault at 13-6, with Siuslaw junior Kyle Hughes second at 13-0 and senior Camp Lacouture third at 12-0.

Siuslaw senior Rylee Colton won the girls 1,500 in 5 minutes, 34.45a seconds, edging Myrtle Point senior Sarah Nicholson at the wire. Nicholson was timed in 5:34.49a.
