The Siuslaw Vikings softball team may have seen the train coming.

South Umpqua plated 14 runs in the second inning Friday in rolling to a 17-0 victory over Siuslaw at Tri City.

The Lady Lancers (4-0) outscored their opponents 45-0 in Week 1, including Marshfield, 13-0, Hidden Valley 10-0 and Phoenix 5-0, all at home.

The Lady Vikings (1-0) try to get back on track Friday when they host Coquiile in a doubleheader. First pitch is noon.

Coquille (3-1-1) has scored 84 runs in its first five games, giving up 57.
