The Siuslaw Vikings jumped to a 4-0 lead after the first inning, but the Coquille Red Devils stormed back for a 16-6 nonleague softball win Friday at the Siuslaw High School Field.

The Lady Vikings are now 0-2 on the season, while Coquille is 4-1-1.

Siuslaw hosts Pleasant Hill in a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Friday at the high school field.

The Lady Vikings close their nonleague schedule April 5 with a home game against Creswell.

Siuslaw opens its final season of 4A Sky-Em League play on Tuesday, April 12, at Marist.

The Lady Vikings will compete next school year in the 3A Mountain Valley Conference.
