Siuslaw Vikings trap shooting coach Sean Grundon has 17 athletes ready to compete this spring and some ideas for funding the team.

"With covid restrictions starting to go away, stay tuned for some pancake breakfast and evening barbecue fundraising happening this season," Grundon said.

The Vikings team first formed spring of 2021 as an activity that allowed students to compete and social distance.

The team also competed in the fall as a member of the Oregon State High School Clay Target League.

"The turnout was pretty good, and I have about half the team returning," Grundon said. "I have 17 total this year."

Practice began Monday at the Siuslaw Rod & Gun Club. The first week of competition begins April 17.

Final season results are posted May 23.
