The Siuslaw Vikings have the green light for a girls soccer team this fall.

And now they have a schedule, 14 matches overall and 12 in league, the 3A/2A/1A Special District 3.

All they need is some players and a coach for their first varsity season.

The Lady Vikings also have a pending match, a season-opening endowment game at Sweet Home.

Girls players have play in a coed team with the boys as Siuslaw in recent seasons, including the past two at the boys varsity level of the Sky-Em League.

Some two dozen girls are interested in competing for Siuslaw, according to reports.

League teams include Central Linn, Santiam Christian, Creswell, Pleasant Hill, Sisters, Elmira and La Pine, according to the schedule posted on the OSAA school website as of March 30.
