Siuslaw senior Chad Hughes won the 1,500- and 3,000-meter runs Saturday to lead the Vikings boys track and field team to second place at the Marist Invite in Eugene.

Marshfield was first with 122.5 points, Siuslaw second with 113 and Cottage Grove third with 102.

Churchill had 101, North Bend 88, La Pine 56.6, Junction City 47 and Marist 33.

The Lady Vikings were eighth and last with 43. Marist won with 132 and Churchill was second with 110.

Hughes won the 1,500 in 4 minutes, 18.91a seconds and the 3,000 in 9:28.42a.

Siuslaw junior Samuel Ulrich won the 800 in 2:04.19a.

Other top marks by the Vikings boys:

• Junior Hunter Petterson, second in the 100 in 11.76a and third in the 200 in a PR 23.51a (top 4A time so far this season).
• Junior Jonathan Rose, third in the shot put with a PR 41 feet, 5.5 inches and fourth in the discus with a PR 127-8.
• Senior Rhys Fleming, third in the javelin at 146-1.
• Senior Camp Lacouture, fourth in the 300 hurdles in 45.70a and fourth in the long jump in a PR 19-4.
• Freshman Wesley Nicholls, fourth in the 200 in a PR 24.13a.
• Senior James Smith, fifth in the 400 in a PR 55.51a and fifth in the discus in a PR 111-5.
• Sophomore Talan Smith, fifth in the 1,500 in a PR 4:33.87a.
• Junior Lucian Murphy, fifth in the 110 hurdles in a PR 19.59a.
• The Vikings 4x400 relay team was third and the 4x100 relay team fifth.

Top Lady Vikings marks included:

• Senior Rylee Colton, third in the 1,500 in a PR 5:04.19a and fifth in the 800 in 2:39.33a.
• Freshman Macy McNeill, third in the 3,000 in a PR 12:12.81a.
• Sophomore Jane Lacouture, fourth in the 3,000 in 12:51.29a.
• Freshman Makayla Bender, fourth in the 100 hurdles in a PR 21.28 and fifth in the 300 hurdles in a PR 59.87a.
• The 4x400 relay team was fourth.
