Creswell pushed across four runs in the top of the third inning with the help of a bases-loaded walk, a wild pitch and an error to defeat the Siuslaw Vikings, 5-2, in a nonleague baseball game Thursday at Dodson Stadium.

"We actually hit the ball pretty well today, putting up 10 hits," Siuslaw coach Tom Shinn said. "Unfortunately, we left a lot of runners stranded on base."

The Vikings (5-5) open Sky-Em League play Tuesday at Marist. Creswell (4-2) hosts Sutherlin on Wednesday.

The Vikings outhit Creswell 10-4, with Beau Erickson going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Noah Dotson was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Ethan Halpin 2-for-3 with a double.

Siuslaw's Isaac Garza and Beau Erickson combined for 13 strikeouts, four in 2 1/3 innings for Garza and nine in 4 2/3 innings for Erickson.

Garza (5) and Erickson (7) also combined to issue 12 walks.

Vikings third baseman Victor Ayala had a strong game in the field.

"Victor played a great game today defensively," Shinn said. "He made two diving grabs of groundballs to get some impressive outs."
