Marist pushed across a run in the bottom of the fifth to complete a 12-2 victory over Siuslaw in a Sky-Em League baseball game Thursday in Eugene.

The run triggered the 10-run rule and put the Spartans (7-5, 3-0) alone in first place in league play.

The Vikings fell to 5-8 and 0-3.

Senior Isaac Garza was 1-for-2 with a run, RBI, double and a stolen base for Siuslaw. Senior Noah Dotson had the other Viking hit.

Marist junior pitcher Nick Biagi tossed a two-hitter over five innings, striking out seven, for the win.

"With the doubleheader on Friday, I decided to not throw any pitcher beyond the 25-pitch mark to make sure we have enough pitching to challenge Elmira," Siuslaw coach Tom Shinn said.

"The continued postponements of this game made pitching a bit of a challenge for us to be able to get through the end of this week."

Siuslaw is scheduled to play a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Friday at Elmira-Triangle Lake at Elmira.
