Siuslaw junior Jonathan Rose won the shot put and the discus and placed third in the javelin Tuesday to lead the Vikings boys to second place in the Sky-Em League junior varsity track and field meet at Cottage Grove.

The host Lions won with 133 points, Siuslaw had 79, Junction City 71, Marist 44 and Elmira 21.

Marist topped the girls with 124 points, Cottage Grove had 78, Junction City 73, Elmira 58 and Siuslaw 8.

Rose won the shot put at 42 feet, 7 inches and the discus with a personal-record 135-9 and was third in the javelin at 138-9, a PR.

Senior James Smith won the 200 meters in a PR 24.42a, finished second in the 100 at 12.36a and was third in the discus at 112-7.

Senior Camp Lacouture was first in the 300 hurdles in 45.11a and third in the triple jump at 35-3.5.

Senior Rhys Fleming was second in the javelin at 145-10, junior Hunter Petterson third in the 800 in a PR 2:12.29a and freshman Justin Allen third in the pole vault in a PR 10-0.
