Siuslaw senior Rylee Colton and freshman Maya Wells placed 1-2 at 1,500 meters, both with personal bests, as the Lady Vikings placed eighth Saturday in the 24-school Stayton Invitational track and field meet.

Philomath won the team title with 143 points, 6A McKay second with 58.5 and host Stayton third with 56. Siuslaw had 35.

Colton just missed her first sub-5-minute metric mile, clocking 5:00.26a. Wells was timed in 5:15.81a.

Colton also had a fourth-place finish in the 800 in 2:30.19a.

Freshman Macy McNeil was third in the 3,000 in 12:05.04a.

Personal records were posted by freshman Macali Lade (400), sophomore Corduroy Holbrook (800) and sophomore Madison Carnahan (discus).
