Siuslaw junior speedster Hunter Petterson had personal records in the 200 and 400 Saturday to fire the Vikings to a dominating performance in the Stayton Invitational track and field meet.

Siuslaw ran off with the team title with 109.5 points, with 5A Ridgeview second among 21 teams with 70 and Cottage Grove third with 67.5.

Petterson won the 200 in 22.82a (fourth fastest in school history) and was third in the 400 in 52.60a (14th fastest in school history).

Peterson also ran the opening leg of the Vikings' winning 4x100 relay team and the anchor leg of the team's third-place finish in the 4x400 relay.

Vikings junior Sam Ulrich won the 3,000 in a personal record 9 minutes, 13.26a seconds, with senior Chad Hughes second in 9:15.59a. Hughes also was second in the 1,500 in 4:14.99a.

Senior Camp Lacouture won the pole vault at 13-feet even, with sophomore Talan Ross second with a PR 11-0. Lacouture also was third in the 300 hurdles in a season-best 44.62a.

Junior Jacob Blankenship was fourth in the 1,500 in a PR 4:28.29a.

Junior Jonathan Rose was fourth in the javelin with a PR 139-4, fourth in the discus at 132-8 and tied for fifth in the shot put at 41-6.

Senior Rhys Fleming was third in the javelin at 144-5, nine inches short of first place.
