The Siuslaw Athletic Booster Club needs more.

More from the community. More from coaches. More from people wanting to take an active role in getting the club back on its feet and in the game.

"We are really looking for parents of current student-athletes to participate with the club," SABC vice president Dylan Perry said. "We are hopeful some will take a larger role within the club."

The club next meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday (May 3) at the Siuslaw High School library.

"Our agenda is to discuss our board positions, finances, Hall of Fame (induction-dinner) and auction this summer," Perry said.

"And recruiting more club members."

Perry, the head boys basketball coach, also is appealing to his fellow coaches.

"It would be great to get more of our school coaches to be members and attend club meetings," he said.

The club is looking for a president, a membership chair and a paid auction chair.

The Siuslaw Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony is Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Florence Events Center.

"If there is an auction, we'd start the ceremony at 1 p.m. or 2," Siuslaw athletic director Chris Johnson said. "If there isn't an auction, we'd start at 5:30."

Base salary for the auction chair is $3,000, but could go higher depending on the scope of the auction, Johnson said.
