The Siuslaw Middle School eighth-grade Vikings boys track and field team won the Middle School District Championships on Friday at the Steve Prefontaine Track in Coos Bay.

The Vikings boys had 106 points in a battle with 12 other schools. Azalea (Brookings) was second with 103.5.

The Vikings boys placed second in the seventh-grade competition with 86 points. Marshfield won with 103.

The Siuslaw girls' eighth-grade team placed fifth among 12 schools with 60 points. North Bend won with 93.5.
