Vikings will be at Tillamook for play-in game

The Siuslaw Vikings will play at the Tillamook Cheesemakers in an OSAA Class 4A baseball play-in game at 5 p.m. Friday.

Randy Schild Field is behind East Elementary School, 3905 Alder Lane, in Tillamook. Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for students.

The Vikings finished the regular season 10-15 and ranked No, 19. Siuslaw advances as the No. 5 team from the Sky-Em League.

The Cheesemakers were 9-10 and ranked No, 14. Tillamook advances as the No. 2 team from the Cowapa League, which produced overall No. 1 Banks.

Teams are reseeded for the 16-team championship bracket. A Siuslaw win likely would put the Vikings up against one of the top three teams — Banks, Hidden Valley or North Marion.

Play-in pairings:

Phoenix (6-17) at Newport (16-7), 4:30 p.m.
Friday
Siuslaw (10-15) at Tillamook (9-10), 5 p.m.

Those eight include Banks (20-2), Hidden Valley (24-2), North Marion (21-4), La Grande (23-1), Marist (17-7), Mazama (17-8), Stayton (17-6) and Philomath (14-9).
