Rylee Colton top seed in girls 3,000 meters


Siuslaw senior Rylee Colton is the top seed in the girls 3,000 meters, which jump-starts the OSAA Class 4A state track and field championships at 9 a.m. Friday at Hayward Field in Eugene.

Colton, one of 13 qualifiers, has a personal-best of 10 minutes, 44.17 seconds, with Marist junior Avery Hidden literally on her heals at 10:46.07.

Junior Samuel Ulrich and senior Chad Hughes are seeded 2-3 in the boys 3,000, set for a 9:45 a.m. start Friday.

The Lady Vikings girls 4x400 relay team (Maya Wells, Colton, Macali Lade, Corduroy Holbrook) has a 4:40 p.m. start Saturday.
