Early Top 10 poll appears to slight Vikings

Mid-Major Media.com, which reports on Oregon's 4A, 3A and 2A high school sports programs, has released its "Way-Too-Early Football Top 10s."

And defending 3A state champion Siuslaw is not on it.

Probably not a big surprise, given the quality and quantity of seniors last season for the Vikings.

Still, good programs do not rebuild. They reload. Expect that with Siuslaw.

South Umpqua, last season's 3A runner-up, is No. 1. Marist tops the 4A poll, with Marshfield No. 9, while Heppner is No. 1 in 2A, with Bandon No. 2.
