The South Coast Babe Ruth All-Stars, featuring five Siuslaw players and a Florence coaching staff, are headed to the state tournament July 15-17 in Roseburg.

The ultimate goal is the World Series later this summer in Williston, N.D.

And they need your help.

"Postseason baseball creates long-lasting memories for everyone involved," the SCBR board said in a news release. "However, there are also fees for uniforms, travel and entry into tournaments.

"Your generous sponsorship dollars provide opportunity for children to continue learning the game of baseball and understand the value of teamwork."

Players from Florence include Collin Barnett, Micah Blankenship, Jacob Mann, Zak Nilles and Jordan Pitcher.

Mike Blankenship is manager, with Elijah Blankenship, John Pitcher and Michael Pitcher as coaches.

The SCBR is a 501(c) nonprofit organization. Checks should be payable to South Coast Babe Ruth and mailed to PO Box 1422, North Bend, OR 97459.
