First serve for the Siuslaw Vikings volleyball season is 10 a.m. Friday in a jamboree match with Marshfield in Coos Bay.

The match is scheduled to be carried on the NFHS Network.

The Lady Vikings travel to Coquille on Saturday for matches with Bandon at 12:45 p.m. and Coquille at 2:30 p.m.

Siuslaw heads to North Bend on Tuesday to conclude a season-opening five-game road trip with a match against Marshfield at 3:30 p.m. and North Bend at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Vikings' home opener is Thursday, Sept. 1, against Sutherlin. First serve is 6:30 p.m.

Ashlee Cole returns as head coach after a season off. Cole was Sky-Em League coach of the year in spring 2021 in her first go-around with the Lady Vikings.

Cole currently is set to coach both varsity and junior varsity teams. A search is ongoing for a JV coach.

The Lady Vikings are led by senior middle blocker/outside hitter Desiree Tupua, a first-team Sky-Em League all-star and an honorable mention all-state performer last fall.
